Dear Volunteers,
This is National Volunteer Week and I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your involvement, your time, your energy and your commitment to helping us deliver programs that support our children, young people, women and communities.
I continue to be amazed and humbled by the generosity of spirit that I see in all of you every time you walk through our doors and commit your time to help us deliver services. You each bring a very diverse range of skills, talents, experiences and knowledge, and this contributes to the richness of what we are able to directly offer the people we work with and helps steer forward the strategic direction of the organisation.
I’d like to take this chance to tell you we have 76 volunteers who work across a wide range of services and programs including teaching young people how to drive, supporting our reception function at the front desk, transporting young people home safely Friday and Saturday nights, teaching adults and young people how to read and write, supporting our school holiday programs, camps, Friday night social activities in Glebe, helping to run our children’s programs in Maroubra and Waterloo, our cleaning company, providing pro bono services, free access to health services, we have skilled volunteers that use their professional careers to help us develop our strategic plan, create space for us to think about our work, our impact and our hopes for the future, and lastly our Weave Board which is made up entirely of talented, passionate volunteers!
On behalf of the whole organisation, we thank each and every one of you for your support and impact. We hope you enjoy the little video we have put together and, as our young people say-Volunteering – Good Karma. We hope you feel proud of what you do at Weave and that you feel the good Karma. We can not thank you enough!
Regards,
Shane Brown
